The British team pulled off the latest in the long list of big surprises of the 2010 Meydan FEI Nations Cup™ series when scoring an emphatic win on their home turf at Hickstead this afternoon. In a competition that saw the form-book once again turned on its head, and which saw riders enduring the most extreme of fluctuating fortunes, they crushed the opposition when proving themselves the only ones fully capable of mastering the mighty Hickstead track.

Jul 30, 2010The thirty horses that are to compete in the inaugural Youth Olympic Games in August came out of their two-week post-arrival quarantine in Singapore today.
For the first time in Olympic history, a ballot will be organised to pair the horses with the 30 young riders competing in the individual and team Jumping events at the Games. The horses were specially trained over an eight-month period at Glen Haven Park in Queensland, Australia.

Jul 30, 2010The 2010 Adequan/USEF Open Reining Championships, which also served as the USEF Selection Trial for the Adequan US Reining Team for the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games TM, featured fierce competition with a national title and a ticket to the World Equestrian Games on the line.
The Oklahoma State Fairgrounds main coliseum was rocking on Saturday night and when the dust settled Shawn Flarida held on to his lead and had the best two round total to take top honors.

The French, 2009 series champions and leaders throughout the 2010 season, will be pathfinders when the seventh leg of the Meydan FEI Nations Cup™ series gets underway at Hickstead, Great Britain tomorrow afternoon.
The draw took place this afternoon, and the order-of-go for the penultimate leg of the 2010 series is as follows: 1, France: 2, USA; 3, Sweden; 4, Ireland; 5, Switzerland; 6, Great Britain; 7, Germany; 8, The Netherlands; 9, Spain.

Jul 28, 2010American actor and director Robert Duvall has given his support to the annual awards organised by the Fédération Equestre Internationale (FEI), the governing body of horse sport. The FEI launched the “Oscars of the equestrian world” last year to reward outstanding dedication to horse sport in five categories. Calls for nominations for the 2010 awards opened on July 16.
