YOUTH OLYMPIC HORSES COME OUT OF QUARANTINE IN SINGAPORE
Jul 30, 2010The thirty horses that are to compete in the inaugural Youth Olympic Games in August came out of their two-week post-arrival quarantine in Singapore today.
For the first time in Olympic history, a ballot will be organised to pair the horses with the 30 young riders competing in the individual and team Jumping events at the Games. The horses were specially trained over an eight-month period at Glen Haven Park in Queensland, Australia.

Jun 10, 2010Swedish Jumping rider Lisen Bratt Fredricson has been named as the Equestrian sport Athlete Role Model (ARM) for the inaugural Youth Olympic Games in Singapore this summer. The International Olympic Committee (IOC) this week announced a list of 46 ARMs for the Games, which run from 14 to 26 August.

With a little more than three months to go before the first ever Youth Olympic Games, the FEI has posted a short video of the Open Day that took place recently at Glen Haven Park in Australia. It is here that a dedicated team is schooling the horses that will be paired with the young Olympic riders in Singapore.
A second video update will be posted on the FEI website in the next few days.
